Since graduating from St. Andrews University, Nathan Gregson has worked across a range of operational and management roles within the sports and gaming industries, including time at Betfair, the market-leading betting exchange, as well as Opta, the world’s premier supplier of performance data. Nathan combines an expertise in the management of financial risk with a passion for sport, and having spent two years exploring a perceived gap in the market, founded Siepe Sports in early 2014.
A stockbroker by trade, Compton Hellyer had a successful career in the city before, in 1991, founding Sporting Index, the world leader in spread betting. Having left Sporting in 2003 after it was the subject of a private equity takeover, Compton’s subsequent business interests cover a range of businesses across the sports industry, including senior board positions at The Jockey Club, Golfbreaks.com and 21st Century Club.
David Johnson is a seasoned financial professional with over 25 years experience working as FD/CFO for a number of high-growth, VC-backed, technology companies operating in areas including internet marketing, CRM software, FinTech, IT consulting and data management. Over the past decade alone, David has taken four businesses through to successful trade exits, most recently a technology recruitment company in 2014, of which he was a founding partner.
Mike Strong began his career in office equipment sales, firstly with Saint Group, and then with the 3i backed ‘buy and build’ Azzurri. Entering the Sports business in 2009 working for a bookmaker in Malta, Mike was soon poached by Opta Sports to work as Sales Director. He now works in the same role for the fast-growing BetGenius group, one of the leading outsource companies used by bookmakers throughout the world for prices, data and trading.
Tom Rolfe worked at Betfair for over 11 years, where he was responsible for the management of the company’s Key Account customers. Since 2013, he has been a Director of Mustard Systems, a company specialising in the predictive modelling of sports, for the use of bookmakers, insurance companies and professional gamblers. Tom also heads up its gaming division MustardBet, charged with attracting large-staking corporate and private clients.
